Central Park from Mike Payne

A number of views of Central Park from Jimmy Brown

Central Park from Tony Collins

Lochore Welfare's Central Park has changed in recent years. The entrance is behind one of the goals and a slight incline takes the fans up past the clubhouse. A refreshments kiosk can be found on the pitch side of the building, and hot and cold food can be bought here. The ground now has a smart, small covered enclosure, while the pitch was returfed in 1998 at considerable expense to the club. It is a very neat and tidy ground and a credit to the club.

Social Club: unknown (although above very recent pic suggests one at ground though not on my most recent visit)

Club Information:

Benarty and Lochore Miners Welfare merged in the summer of 1999 to form a new club. Lochore Welfare had merged the previous season with Lochore Miners to form Lochore Miners Welfare! The team reverted to the original new name of Lochore Welfare for 2001-02.

Anyone paying a visit to Central Park will find a club that, while it doesn't have much money, has a well kept ground, is friendly and very ambitious.

Crosshill was once a very prosperous mining area, but when the pits closed and the inevitable job cuts began to hit hard, that standard of living slipped. The community is fighting back however against poverty in the region.

Crowds currently can rise to a good couple of hundred for some games.

Blairwood Park from Tony Collins

A stark grey wall bearing the daubed legend 'Oakley United Blairwood Park' welcomes fans to the home of one of Fife's top Junior sides. The ground is basic, with white and red railings differentiating the grass supporters areas from the pitch. There is a dreary section of cover, with maroon facings, that resembles a 20 yards long bus shelter. Shrubery, trees and a rickety fence enclose the ground.

A number of views of Recreation Park from Jamie Wire

Recreation Park from Tony Collins

There are black crush barriers behind both goals although it is rare for a crowd to be at New Recreation Park. The whole ground is surrounded by grass banking. There is food available in The Yard, the adjacent pub. A burger van occasionally makes an appearance in the ground.

Rosyth have a following of around 70. The club used to be known as Jubilee Athletic, a name that vanished from Fife Junior football at the end of season 1991-92, after they finished at the lower end of the table. Jubilee moved from Inverkeithing to Rosyth and took the name of their new town. Jim Leishman was their manager in the early days. The club was known as Rosyth Recreation from 1992 until the summer of 2006 when that name was taken on by the local Juvenile side.

The Scone Thistle ground from Graeme McGinty

The ground was named after a local botanist who discovered the Douglas Fir (Robert Douglas Memorial Field) but was renamed Farquharson Park in honour of long-standing Scone Thistle committee man Scott Farquharson who died in 2009, is enclosed in a way with temporary fences blocking off various illegal entry points. There's no cover and no fencing and the pitchside has a tendancy to be a little wet. The lines are marked with sawdust. The changing rooms/clubhouse building is very small, although cups of tea are available at half time to the crowd.

Social Club: There is no social club.

Club Information:
Scone can attact around 50 on a good day. If you fancy a drink before the game, there are a couple of pubs in the village. The Aerodrome Inn is nearest to the ground, and an alternative to that is the Scone Arms although both are quite small. There is also the Wheel Inn although it is mostly a family-eating-out food chain eatery. It is however the closest place for a drink.
